Tóm tắt/ chú giải | : | What is the primary engine of the history-making process? What is the basic factor making nations advance or degenerate? How do societies become dynamic or stagnant? Among the myriad of causal factors in history, -- physical, social, economic, political, intellectual, and institutional -- this work assumes spiritual factors to be the key force. This conviction stems from belief that man, a special creation of God in His image, is a “living soul,` an embodied spirit. As a spiritual being, man exteriorizes his thoughts in the various forms of culture. The basic conceptual framework by which a man sees himself in relation to everything around him is a worldview. It is the set of ultimate beliefs on which all other concepts turn. What lies at the core of a worldview? Nature? Man? Technology? Or God? This work delves into the influence of the GodChristcentric worldview on human history as compared with that of nature-centric, anthropocentric, and technocentric worldviews. |
