Burroughs concluded his book by pointing out that though he had preached many sermons on this lesson of contentment, most people take much longer to learn it than he took to preach it. It is comparatively easy to preach or speak on contentment - it is a much harder thing to learn it in the heart. Do not be content, is his final word, till you have learned this lesson of Christian contentment, till you have gained some better skill in it than you have had hitherto. |
